Dining Out
We believe that the food we serve and introduce you to is a big part of your Lazy Winch sailing holiday experience.
Eating out in Croatia is inexpensive and the food has a Mediterranean Italian bias. Croatians are fanatical about local organic produce and freshness. At all our destinations the skipper will be able to recommend restaurants based on our experience over the years. To give some indication a simple Pizza meal will cost around 65kn per head including salad and a desert of ice cream and drink. At the other end of the scale a three course lobster dinner with wine will cost about 330kn per head at a top restaurant. Fish is superb both in variety and freshness ask your skipper to book you into restaurants serving Peke and Brodet ; local delicacies cooked on charcoal.
Eating On Board
If you have booked half board you will receive a continental breakfast of Fresh bread or pastries as available, seasonal fruits; Citrus fruits, Figs, Melon, Strawberries as available. Local preserves and honey, cereals, tea / coffee and fruit juice. This may be supplemented by fruit, eggs and Dalmatian bacon at certain times depending on availability.
A Mediterranean style lunch will be served normally; a selection of salads, cold meats and fish, local hot specialities such as Cevapci and Burek. Mineral water and fruit syrups are served but of course the bar will be open.
Generally you will eat better on board and less expensively, you will of course want to try out the local restaurants, but consider a night 'Chez Penny' or 'Chez Teja' and enjoy the experience of fresh BBQ fish, cooked under the stars, at anchor on your yacht. We offer various menus on the following pages to guests wishing to add an extra crew member for the holiday. The housekeeper will assist in preparation of food, servicing of cabins, cleaning and serving drinks. ( please note that they will need somewhere to sleep which will reduce the number of guests to six adults) If you would like us to prepare any of these for you please let us know the day before so we can plan our victualling.
Bar
We stock a small Bar on board with local wines, spirits, mixers, soft drinks and beer. Drinks are mostly 10 kn and an 'honesty' book is kept in the bar. Bar bills to be settled before departure.

Dalmatian Buffet
A chance to try all the local specialities perhaps at the beginning of your stay to find out your favourites.
A selection of Cevapici -hot lamb spicy meatballs with sweet peper dip, smoked cold meats including the delicious Prsut and various local salamis and sausages. Mali Riba a local whitebait dish. Borek - cheese tortilla served warm. A variety of salads including a local tomato ,red onion and olive, salted herrings in olive oil, potato and fresh green salad. Pickled vegetables. A selection of cheeses from Pag and other islands, local bread and fruit.

Meat BBQ
We think you will be very surprised with the quality and taste of the local beef making it an ideal choice for an on board BBQ evening.
A selection of local Melon, Prsut; a local smoked ham, olives and cheese from the award winning Island of Pag. Fresh local bread followed by charcoal grilled seasoned steaks. Roast potatoes with onions and fresh Rosemary, green beans and courgettes. For desert possibly crepes with a cherry coulis or Crème bruleé made with seasonal fruits. Other meat or poultry available.

Fish BBQ
Join us, if you wish, early in the morning at the Ribernica, to buy the fish for what will be a highlight of your stay, fresh fish grilled under the open sky aboard your yacht.
Stir fried whole Scampi in olive oil garlic and lemon, followed by a selection of fish charcoal grilled with salad and fresh local bread. Yogurt and honey, fruit or cheese selection to finish. A meat alternative can be provided if required.
150-250KN, depending on market prices of fish chosen, per head including wine, mineral water and local lemon or orange syrup soft drinks. Coffee.
Adriatic seafood tagliatelle
A delicious end to an active days sailing when you need to replace those burntup calories!
Mixed Hors d¹ourves followed by: A selection from Scampi, Mussels, Octopus, Tuna or other shellfish as availability and taste dictates in a tomato and sweet pepper sauce with seasonal vegetables served on a bed of Tagliatelle Verdi. Fruit selection or cheese board.
100kn per head including wine, mineral water and local lemon or orange syrup soft drinks. Coffee.
Mussels a la Penelope
Which is in fact any way you like them : mariniere, grilled with garlic and cheese, in a tomato and oregano sauce, raw with Tabasco , you decide. Served with lots of fresh bread to mop up that sauce and a mixed salad. Melon and Prsut to start and a fruit Brûlee or cheese selection to follow.

Lobster or Adriatic crayfish
A special treat for your last night perhaps?
Mixed Hors d¹ourves followed by charcoal grilled lobster or Crayfish with garlic butter and lemon baste. Served as the locals do on a bed of pasta with seasonal vegetables and boiled potatoes. Fruit, honey and yoghurt or cheese board to follow.

Dalmatian Paella
The Adriatic version of this famous Mediterranean risotto.
Normally a fish and mixed shell fish risotto served in a large Paella dish but can include meat, sausage or turkey pieces, the guests decide on this yacht! A fresh salad to start and mixedfruit salad to finish.
