Can we go diving/waterskiing/ jetskiing/windsurfing etc. whilst on holiday on the yacht?
Diving: is readily available along the Dalmatian coast and throughout the Islands. The waters are crystal clear and visibility is superb. The licensed dive centres are able to rent you equipment and take you out to the dive sites on the own boats. Diving is relatively inexpensive and last season cost about €60 for the day including hire of equipment. Ask your skipper for the best locations along your agreed itinerary. Further information http://www.diving.hr/main/kako.asp?L=eng

Waterskiing; has not yet taken off as a sport in Croatia and very few facilities exist sports boats are available for rental if you have your own equipment however.

Other water sports such as windsurfing and jetski-ing are readily available and specific centres ask your skipper to take you to Trogir, Korcula or Bol.

In the Caribbean we add 20% to the charter fee as a tip for the crew, what is the protocol on tipping here?
Crew gratuities are entirely at the discretion of our guests and we do not add a fixed amount. If you have enjoyed your holiday and feel the crew have earned it please give the tip to the skipper who will ensure it is shared by the crew.

Will we visit Dubrovnik during our time on board?
Visiting Dubrovnik by yacht is not usually the best option. From our bases near Trogir Dubrovnik is 120 nautical miles, the total sailing time is about 20 hours say 4 comfortable days sailing there and four back. The commercial port of Gruz is the closest mooring to the old city and is linked by a bus service it is however on the main road and used by commercial and fishing fleets. The Marina up river is some 20 minutes by Taxi. Both these are hopelessly oversubscribed in the peak season. Better options are sailing to one of the Elephant islands and taking the water taxi right into the historic old city harbour, tying up along the coast and taking the coach into the city or adding a few days to your holiday to see the fantastic walled city by road or air. The 08.45 coach from Marina Agana will get you to Dubrovnik at about 14.00. Ask us for your best alternative.

Realistically how many of us including children can the yacht accommodate?
Comfortably 8 adults in either 4 double or two double and two twin cabins with en suite facilities. It may be possible to take six adults and up to six young children on the Lazy Penelope where the forward cabins can be configured with a double below and a single bunk above. If you have booked a housekeeper you will be restricted to six adult guests as they will need a cabin. On longer trips the crew will need a toilet facilities and again the number of guests will be reduced to 6.

What is the youngest / oldest guest you have catered for?
Last season our youngest guest was 5 years old and our oldest was 87! Sailing is great fun and absorbing for all ages contrary to popular belief children rarely get bored on board and access with the 'sugar scoop' deck at the sterrn is almost level with the quay in most places.

Can I receive an important email whilst on board?
We have a GPRS connection via the ships laptop nad cvan access the internet and email on a daily basis.

Will I need waterproof clothing , do you supply it?
We could not possibly store all the different sizes we would need for 8 guests each week and suggest you bring light weight waterproofs if you want to be on deck during a summer thunder storm or at the beginning or end of the season.

How much sailing will we do each day?
If you have the yacht exclusively then you will decide with your skipper how much or how little you want to do. A normal day would be a couple of hours before lunch and a couple after. It will depend on the wind strength and direction as to distances travelled. Your skipper will have the final decision based on safety of the yacht and its passangers.

We are travelling to Europe with a lot of luggage can we leave some of it ashore whilst we sail with you?
The bus stations at Split and Trogir have left luggage offices and it may be possible for you skipper to store some luggage ashore.

Are the crews meals included in the charter fees?
Breakfast and lunch each day are included. The skipper and if on board crew normally dine with the guests. If this is at a recommended restaurant often the restaurateur rather than the guests will pay for the skippers evening meal.

When should we book?
By Christmas some 40% of the available weeks in the peak periods have been chartered. This rises to 90% by May. You should confirm early not only to ensure that you get the week you want but also the best flight prices are always those booked well in advance.

Do you take credit cards?
No, it is not economical for us to do so and would only add to the cost of your holiday. We would like payments by Bank transfer and may be able to accept cash or cheques from UK residents. We may be able to take payments via paypal and will pass on to the client any additional costs to us for doing so. Your bar bill and mooring fees will be payable in cash either local currency or Euros or GBP Pounds.

What should we budget for mooring fees?
Last year on average the mooring fees for the 51 foot yachts were 850KN for a week staying on bouys, town quays, in marinas with facilities and of of course free of charge at Anchor
